Mission Statement
The Septimius Awards (Stitching NVIFF) is an officially registered ANBI organization and offers a new perspective within the existing international film industry. Septimius Awards’ main initiative is to increase diversity in the film industry by collaborating with diverse international film talent. Septimius Awards also stimulates the development of new film talent through the organization of workshops and panel discussions. The initiators of Septimius Awards, Jan-Willem Breure and William Kwame Osei Bonsu, therefore decided that there should be a film festival that is not only more diverse, and shows both Western and non-Western films on the basis of equality, but also that colored makers themselves have a stage. and gives them an opportunity to profile themselves. Based on this new vision, which is more inclusive and open to diverse cultures, the Foundation was established in 2019 and the Septimius Awards organized in 2022.
